About Dredge No. 7 Inn

About Us | Dredge No. 7 Inn - Nome, AK

While the Dredge No.7 Inn offers a unique glimpse into Nome’s mining history, be sure that the hotel and rooms are brand new and state-of-the-art. The inn is operated and owned by a mining family that goes back multiple generations.

Nome, AK became famous in the early 20th century during the “gold rush.” Gold was discovered and mined all along the miles of coast and beach sands. There were claims that the city has the world’s largest gold pan. During this stampede, Nome’s population reportedly grew to as many as 20,000 people. This would have made it the most populated city in Alaska at the time.

There were six mining dredges located in Nome during the early 1900’s. Our inn takes the name of the seventh. Many of these previous dredges can be seen from the hotel’s property. Most of the suites have historical decorations and photographs that date back to Nome’s rich mining history.

Come visit us today and revel in early American and Alaskan history by staying at the Dredge No.7 Inn!
